Porcelain Vending Machine - mini sculpture V
A small vending machine sculpture, made using the 'kurinuki' technique - cutting a block of clay and then carving out from inside the block to reduce the weight. My intention was to make minimal intervention with the block - the inner carved surface still retains the look of the carved clay.
Carved porcelain, decorated with cobalt and iron oxides and coated in a clear glossy glaze - some of the 'buttons' have remained free of glaze. Stamped on the reverse with a little bear head stamp.
Approximately 8.5cm high x 5.5cm wide.
As with most of the things I make, my ceramic pieces retain the look of being handmade and this is a part of their charm. Please make sure you consult the pictures carefully and that you are happy with the piece before purchasing.
