Porcelain Vending Machine - mini sculpture VIII
A small vending machine sculpture, made using the 'kurinuki' technique - cutting a block of clay and then carving out from inside the block to reduce the weight. My intention was to make minimal intervention with the block - the inner carved surface still retains the look of the carved clay.
Carved porcelain, decorated with cobalt oxide and coated in a soft matt white glaze that makes the decorated lines change to a dark green breaking to a foamy white in parts, and the little 'window' clear glazed, allowing the blue oxide to show. Stamped on the reverse with my bear head stamp.
Approximately 7cm high x 5cm wide.
As with most of the things I make, my ceramic pieces retain the look of being handmade and this is a part of their charm. Please make sure you consult the pictures carefully and that you are happy with the piece before purchasing.
