windfall wobble
Artist's notes on style, materials and inspiration:
This little girl has a rounded bottom so that she gently wobbles, just like a windfall apple. Her stalk is made from a real twig with a painted wooden leaf attached.
My pieces are painted in a naïve and simple style, with visible brush strokes and differing paint consistencies. It is important to note that these dolls are made from real wood which will have naturally occurring markings and grain, and sometimes there will be small amount of bleeding along the grain, or knots, which is to be expected when using untreated wood - please make sure you consult the pictures carefully before purchasing. She has been finished in a top coat of matt acrylic.
A note about 'Wood Girls'
This girl was turned from American Tulipwood by a production turner to my design, and then added to and hand painted in the U.K. by me, a British artist. I love exploring the patterns and scenes encountered by me on my travels and in daily life.
Has a blue bear head 'fruit sticker' painted near the base.
Approximately 17cm high.
Please note: THIS IS NOT A TOY and should be kept out of the reach of children.
US CUSTOMERS: Please be aware that new import fees (tariffs) are now being applied by the US government to all imported goods - they vary by country of manufacture, which means 10% on goods manufactured in the UK (everything in my store). The good news is that if you purchase something from my store between now and February 2026 I will be trialling an 'all duties paid' service, which means you won't have to pay extra when the items arrive in the US. Some larger pieces may be sent separately to prevent damage.
