Artist's notes on style, materials and inspiration:

A set of three painted cut outs of wood girls, strung to hang as decorations.
Hand painted and finished in a matt acrylic protective top coat. Height is the same as a regular wood girl - 14cm.

100% of the purchase price of this set (less payment processing fees by Stripe/ Paypal) will be donated to Many Lands Mutual Aid, a vetted grassroots aid distribution project that puts your donations directly into the hands of displaced families in Gaza in the form of everything from access to solar charging, safe drinking water, groceries, transportation and community support. Hussein and his family team typically help between 30 and 60 families weekly. The living conditions in Gaza right now (many families in tents) means they face new challenges with each season - currently there is a scourge of insects and rodents and so hygiene kits have been the most needed item recently. My pieces are painted in a naïve and simple style, with visible brush strokes and differing paint consistencies. It is important to note that these decorations are made from 6mm plywood which will have a naturally occurring surface roughness - please make sure you consult the pictures carefully before purchasing.

PLEASE NOTE: Wood girls should be kept away from water which can damage the wood and painted surface, and also away from direct heat/ sunlight which also can affect the surface colour and the timber itself. THIS IS NOT A TOY, and should be kept out of reach of children.
