Porcelain Vending Machine - mini sculpture VI (face)
A small vending machine sculpture, made using the 'kurinuki' technique - cutting a block of clay and then carving out from inside the block to reduce the weight. My intention was to make minimal intervention with the block - the inner carved surface still retains the look of the carved clay. This particular machine seems to have come alive and looks very friendly!
Carved porcelain, decorated with cobalt oxide and coated in a clear glossy glaze. Stamped on the reverse with a little bear head stamp.
Approximately 8cm high x 5cm wide.
As with most of the things I make, my ceramic pieces retain the look of being handmade and this is a part of their charm. Please make sure you consult the pictures carefully and that you are happy with the piece before purchasing.
