Porcelain Vending Machine - mini sculpture VII
A small vending machine sculpture, made using the 'kurinuki' technique - cutting a block of clay and then carving out from inside the block to reduce the weight. My intention was to make minimal intervention with the block - the inner carved surface still retains the look of the carved clay.
Carved porcelain, dipped into porcelain blue slip and carved through for the details which are quite cartoon-like in this version. Coated in a clear glossy glaze.
Stamped on the reverse with a bear head stamp.
Approximately 6cm high x 6cm wide.
As with most of the things I make, my ceramic pieces retain the look of being handmade and this is a part of their charm. Please make sure you consult the pictures carefully and that you are happy with the piece before purchasing.
